The longest episode in Stażewski's life was his work in the geometric abstraction trend. The auctioned "Composition" is a work from 1970, when Stażewski's characteristic convex and regular reliefs lost their rhythm, repetition and spatiality; color and flat geometric figures, multiplied and translucent, became the dominant artistic medium.
